David Lisle: A Year in Review

As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on a year defined by partnerships, bespoke designs, and the privilege of bringing our valued clients’ visions to life.

From transforming unique spaces to sourcing the finest materials, this year has been a testament to our dedication to craftsmanship and client satisfaction.

In this blog, we’ll highlight some of the key moments and projects that made 2024 so memorable.

The Hogarth Pub: A unique opportunity

At the start of 2024, we were privileged to work on a truly unique project: The Hogarth Pub, an 18th-century Grade II listed building. This collaboration allowed us to honour the property’s rich history while incorporating bespoke design elements tailored to our client’s vision.

Our team crafted traditional cabinetry using English oak, hand-stained and finished with a gold gilt. Luxurious Verde Fantastico marble was used for added elegance, while original features such as wall lights, panelling, ornate ceiling coving adorned with local wildlife motifs, wooden floors, and the fireplace were preserved to honour the building’s heritage.

Inspired by the client’s favourite bars in London and Scotland, this design featured unique touches like faux books, blending tradition with character.

Antolini headquarters visit

In September, we visited Antolini’s headquarters and showroom in Sega, Italy, near Lake Garda. This incredible visit was part of our mission to source the perfect stone for our new showroom display.

Spanning three days of stunning weather, delicious food, and even time by the swimming pool, the trip was an inspiring opportunity to gather fresh ideas and bring new perspectives to our showroom. Antolini’s showroom, one of the largest in the world, showcased thousands of slabs and blocks of natural stone. Our focus was on finding a striking white or light marble with a bold pattern, and after a full day of exploration, Breccia Capraia marble proved to be exactly what we were looking for.

While every slab we chose had been reserved by a US importer, we were fortunate enough to secure two pieces for our display thanks to Antolini’s generosity. These slabs were shipped to Wales for fabrication and are now proudly showcased in our Stockholm display.

This exclusive experience is something we also offer to our clients, giving them the chance to personally select one-of-a-kind materials for their own kitchens.

The Stockholm display

This year, we proudly unveiled our Stockholm display, the first design fully developed by both Becky and David Lisle. This collaboration took nearly six months to perfect, with every detail meticulously considered.

The Stockholm display replaced our beloved Ziricote Wood Butler’s Pantry, which has since found a new home with one of our valued clients. Stockholm is timeless, glamorous, and grand without being ostentatious, making it a perfect fit for both modern and historical properties.

At its heart is the Breccia Capraia marble sourced during our Antolini visit. This striking stone embodies our commitment to using only the finest materials in our bespoke creations.

Welcoming returning clients

One of the most rewarding aspects of 2024 was seeing returning clients. From creating new kitchens for homes abroad, including a project in the Isle of Man in March, to designing second or third kitchens for loyal clients, these collaborations reaffirmed the quality of our craftsmanship and the relationships we’ve built over the years.

It’s always a pleasure to collaborate again with clients who trust us to create kitchens that enhance their homes and lives. Their loyalty inspires us to continue delivering designs that stand the test of time.
