Project spotlight: New London Kitchen With Secret Door
A recent project took us to a stunning Arts and Crafts property in Cheshire with breathtaking south-facing views over the moorlands. The owners of this home wanted to create a luxurious main living area that maximised these views while offering a functional and stylish space for cooking, dining and entertaining.
This is one of our favourite projects that we’ve worked on, and in this blog post, we’re delving into the details of why.
The Opportunity: Enhancing the Kitchen’s Potential
The original kitchen was set back in a corner, separated from a small dining room by a stud wall, which limited the flow and natural light. Recognising the potential to create a more open and inviting space, we proposed a design that would better connect the kitchen to the rest of the home and take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings.

The Solution: A Seamless Transformation
We decided to remove the stud wall and bring the kitchen into the heart of the home. A hidden walk-in pantry was designed behind a “secret” door, blending seamlessly with the cabinetry to keep clutter out of sight. The open-plan layout now connects the kitchen, dining area and snug, creating a bright and social space that’s perfect for family life.

Style Meets Functionality
The kitchen features a monochromatic colour scheme, allowing luxurious elements like the porcelain-clad fridge and bespoke, hand-silvered dining table to shine. The result is a space that’s not only glamorous but also perfectly suited for cooking, dining and entertaining, all while making the most of the stunning views.

A New Way to Live
This project showcases how thoughtful design can transform a space to meet the needs of our clients. By reimagining the layout and incorporating unique features, we created a kitchen that’s both beautiful and functional.
