Throughout the ages, us Brits have remained steadfastly loyal to our nice cup of tea and our national devotion to it will never fade. However, it’s undeniable that we have also become a nation of coffee drinkers. Where, traditionally, a quick cup of instant would have done the trick, we are now much more well educated in the culture and most seasoned coffee drinkers know precisely how they like their beans.

National Coffee Week (22nd - 28th April) celebrates our love of the stuff and coffee shops up and down the country are getting involved. But why not bring a cosmopolitan edge into your own home by investing in a coffee machine?

Domestic coffee machines are sophisticated affairs and, depending on how much or little you want to play around, there are different types to choose from.

Pod machines require minimum effort for maximum taste. They force steaming water through the sealed pod and produce a tasty coffee with a thick crema.

If you’d prefer to get more involved and gain a deeper understanding of what makes the perfect brew, the bar-pump machines are a much better choice. These robust machines enable you to experiment with different blends and steaming and frothing your milk.

And then there are the bean to cup models which literally do everything for you, bar choosing your drink.

As a bit of a coffee aficionado myself, I can talk you through the advantages of different types of appliances for your kitchen in the Old Chapel on Beech Lane in Macclesfield. We stock a range of styles from top brands like Lavazza and Dualit that will sit beautifully in your own unique kitchen and bringing a little taste of cafe culture into your home.
